“So long, so long, you kept me waiting so long, so long,
Read the epitaph, ring the bell,
you’ve got a one-way ticket to hell.”

No need to add a word to Chumbawamba’s statement:

Let’s make it clear: This is a cause to celebrate, to party, to stamp the dirt down [...] If we must show a little reverence and decorum at this time, then so be it. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of all Margaret Thatcher’s victims.

Les Rita Mitsouko

Check Les Rita Mitsouko on Youtube for some brilliant 80-90′s stuff, like the following video Y’a D’la Haine (’93) directed by Sébastien Chantrel.

Moondog, born Louis Thomas Hardin (1916 – 1999), was an ultra-talented, unconventional, homeless, blind American composer, musician, poet and inventor of several musical instruments with funny names such as oo the ooo-ya-tsu the hüs and the trimba. Once moving in New York Mondoog deliberately decided to make his home on the streets for 20years and could be daily seen at his chosen part on 6th Avenue dressed as a Viking. Regarding his outfit choices Moondog said: ‘I don’t dress as I do to attract attention; I attract attention because I dress as I do’.

Click here to listen to one of his most famous pieces called Bird’s Lament and my very favourite Viking 1.

Do you remember our previous post on Russian feminist punk group Pussy Riot and their excellent performance in front of a Cathedral iconostasis in protest against the rule of Vladimir Putin? (if not check here, they are great!)

Well, after their performance and just because the lyrics were not pleasant to the president, three young women-Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alekhina and Ekaterina Samutsevichare- have being detained by Russian authorities for allegedly participating in the group and charged with “hooliganism”.

On Friday 20 , their pre-trial detention was extended until January 2013. And if convicted they could spend an additional 7 years in prison — simply for singing a song.

The three women deny any involvement in the protest although even if they took part, the severity (and absurdity) of the response of the Russian authorities would not be a justifiable response to the peaceful expression of their political beliefs .

So take action now and join the campaign of Amnesty International Here! Tell the Russian authorities to drop all charges and release them! WWT is certainly on your side girls!

Flying robots quadrotors perform the James Bond Theme by playing various instruments including the keyboard, drums and maracas, a cymbal, and the debut of an adapted guitar built from a couch frame.
The flying quadrotors are completely autonomous, meaning humans are not controlling them; rather they are controlled by a computer programed with instructions to play the instruments.
